#3 Children's Literature: Books that Inspire – What Does the Moon Taste Like? by Michael Grejniec
Integrated Support Centre for Children "A Gaivota"
At the “A Gaivota” Children's Center, we shared the enchanting story “What Does the Moon Taste Like?” by Michael Grejniec with our children.
For a long time, the animals had wanted to discover what the moon tasted like. Was it sweet or salty? They just wanted to try a little piece… At night, they looked anxiously at the sky and stretched as far as they could to reach it.
For a long time, the animals had wanted to discover what the moon tasted like. Was it sweet or salty? They just wanted to try a little piece… At night, they looked anxiously at the sky and stretched as far as they could to reach it.
In this story full of imagination, friendship, and cooperation, the animals realize that when they help each other, they can go further. The turtle had a brilliant idea: perhaps together they could reach the moon…
We also took this opportunity to work with the children on the syllables of the names of the animals present in the story, promoting phonological awareness in a fun way, through literature.
Moments like this show how important children's literature is: it sparks imagination, encourages sharing, and helps children discover values such as mutual support and teamwork.
Don't miss the next story!
Every month, a book to enjoy, learn, and dream.
What will the next story be?
