The Mediterranean Diet Fair returned to Tavira, after a pandemic context, promising to animate the downtown between September 8th and 11th and for which, the Humanitarian Center of Tavira was invited by Tavira Municipality, to be present.

During these days we received hundreds of people in our Stand, allowing us to divulge our services, giving special focus to our social projects, especially the Project "Rehabilitate for Life". This project was created under the Partnerships for Impact, and was co-financed by CRESC ALGARVE 2020, Portugal 2020 and the European Social Fund.

 

It aims to promote active aging, contribute to increasing the well-being of the elderly and prevent the loss of physical and cognitive abilities.

 

In these days we had available the materials used with our seniors, namely, virtual reality goggles, tablet, Wii console and balance platform so that everyone, regardless of age, had the perception of the rehabilitation tools and physical and cognitive stimulation used by us.

 

At the Opening Fair we were visited by the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Dr. Ana Maria Pereira Abrunhosa, the Mayor of Tavira and its executive, President of the CCDR, as well as representatives of other local entities and we witnessed very positive expressions of opinion of this project, reinforcing the work developed so far.

 

To Tavira Municipality, we address a special thank you for the invitation to attend, emphasizing that it is with great pleasure that we are, daily, together with the community.
